Linder is a satirical dating-app parody: swipe through a deck of 83 Linux distributions, each with a desktop screenshot, a tagline written in its own voice, a short bio, and personality tags. Like enough of them and you get a match — plus two runner-ups and a verdict on your taste, and a red flag your new distro only admits to once you're already committed.
Linder started as a joke that wouldn't leave me alone: what if every Linux distro had a dating profile? So I built one for 83 of them, pulling base data from DistroWatch with a small scraper and rewriting each into its own voice, bio, and self-deprecating red flag. Swiping runs through a small scoring algorithm that tallies which tags you keep liking, so the eventual match reflects the taste you reveal one swipe at a time. It's a solo project, and it's traveled further than I expected — a post on r/DistroHopping, a share on LinkedIn, and a small but genuine trickle of GitHub stars.
